This is a good dictionary, especially at the promotional price, but still so for 5.90€. I like specifically that the dictionarys user interface is well designed and that the possibilities of electronic dictionaries for linking / cross-referencing are well developed. Very handy is the option to display the IPA phonetic alphabet by tapping on the headline of the entry. Despite the praise, theres a weakness: In my two months of use, I encountered quite a lot of rather common words that werent in the dictionary, which is based on the Princeton University Corpus. Im currently looking for a - probably higher-priced - alternative for these occasions. The program has been running without any technical problems on my iPod touch, and has always responded quickly. ---------- Gutes Wörterbuch, besonders beim Einführungspreis, aber auch noch für 5.90€. Es nutzt die Möglichkeiten von iPhone/iPod touch gut aus und verlinkt die Einträge, außerdem finde ich die Informationen zu Über-/Unterkategorien sehr nett. Erst kürzlich entdeckt habe ich die Möglichkeit, das IPA-Aussprachealphabet durch Berühren der Kopfzeile anzeigen zu lassen. Als Minuspunkt muss ich aber sagen, dass ich einige sehr grundlegende Wörter nicht gefunden habe. Für diese Fälle suche ich noch in den höherpreisigen Wörterbüchern nach einer Alternative, die auch auf einem anderen Corpus (nicht Princeton University) basiert. Rein technisch läuft das Programm auf meinem iPod touch perfekt.

Very solid and well thought out dictionary with huge word coverage. So far I was able to find everything I was looking for. As a German I find the interactive pronunciation guide very important and well implemented - just tap the symbols and voila! You will spend many hours using this app.

A must have dictionary and best of all: its cheap! Love the recent feature, where it saves your searches, so that you can come back and study to build your vocab. I really enjoy this dict and its very user friendly.

Out of my whole life as a foreign language teacher I tell you this is so much better than wordbook... The conceptual approach is such a killer feature. Fast and quality product, it doesnt freeze up like other apps. Definitely the best in the current bunch.

I use this dictionary many times a day and it always seems to have the word Im looking for. The definitions are quite adequate and I like the way synonyms appear automatically.

Blazingly fast, 1.6 million words, real IPA transcriptions, costs only 99 cents. I love it.

I find this app very helpful and use it often! However not ideal for iPad use, too large not scalable, a pity otherwise a great app.

I own more than a dozen dictionaries, and this is one of my favorites. I always go to Advanced English Dictionary first because I find it always give me a satisfactory answer. The definitions are clear, simple, and precise.
